After our discussion on corporations’ influence on locative media, I thought it was interesting to find out in our readings that Coca Cola has its own locative media project. Some of us thought that corporations’ involvement with locative media would be negative so it was refreshing to see a fun and creative use of a locative project by a major corporation.
In the Chronicle today I read an article called “Online Crime Maps Locate Hot Spots.” It explained a free website, Crimereports.com that allow people to view arrests and police reports on google maps. The user enters a location and can click on an icon to get more information about the crime.
